Veritas Lab Consulting, LLC (VLC) was founded based on a desire to provide laboratories with trusted, competent, and compliant laboratory support. VLC's founder, Liz Thompson, MB(ASCP), has over 14 years of laboratory experience and has been providing clinical laboratories with superior consulting support since 2014. VLC focuses on molecular diagnostics support, including human genetics and molecular infectious disease, as well as many other testing specialties.
VLC has extensive experience validating and running SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) molecular testing (reverse transcription RT-PCR), including navigation of FDA and EUA regulations.
VLC specializes in molecular diagnostics (DNA and RNA based testing) including pharmacogenetics and other human genotyping applications and molecular infectious disease such as women's health (STI, BV, CV), urinary tract infection (UTI), and respiratory pathogen (RPP) panels.

VLC has worked with a wide array of laboratories and personalities over the years, all with similar goals. This has given us unique exposure to many regulatory agencies and many ways of solving problems. There are always multiple ways to solve problems in the laboratory, and it's important that your consultant finds solutions tailored to your laboratory.

The Technical Supervisor (or Technical Consultant, for moderate complexity labs) is a CLIA-required role that must be filled by a qualified individual with the proper education and experience. VLC can provide Technical Supervisor services for laboratories with a variety of testing specialties, including Molecular Diagnostics and Toxicology.
The Laboratory Director is a CLIA-required role that must be filled by a qualified individual with the proper education and experience. VLC can provide consulting Laboratory Director services for laboratories performing testing in any specialty, including Molecular Diagnostics and Toxicology.
VLC has experience setting up many laboratories. New laboratory setup support can be custom-tailored to the needs of the client, and can include aspects such as project management, assay design and validation support, procurement support, laboratory layout design, compliance documentation including technical and compliance procedures and policies, recruitment of laboratory staff.
New assay validation can be a challenge for laboratory staff. VLC can provide assistance including project management, day-to-day support, experiment planning, data analysis and compilation, drafting validation summary report, writing technical procedures.
Compliance support can include review of quality records and policies/procedures, training of laboratory staff, or any other compliance needs your laboratory may have. VLC has expert knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and COLA compliance requirements.
VLC can complete or assist in completion of CLIA licensure, accreditation such as CAP and COLA, and/or Out of State licensure applications.
Mock inspections are tailored to the licensure and accreditation of the laboratory. Inspections are typically be performed on-site, requiring travel. Mock inspections may be completed by remote review of electronic documentation, if necessary.
Technical writing can include drafting of technical procedures and compliance policies tailored to the licensure and accreditation of the laboratory. Documents can be provided individually as needed, or as entire manuals to satisfy all compliance policy requirements for a given licensure/accreditation agency.
